Congratulations PSG on being accredited with ‘GymMark’. It has been a long process requiring many long hours of work, but we will be presented with our plaque at the end of September 2005. The GymMark scheme has been developed by British Gymnastics, in partnership with Sport England and the Home Country Sports Councils, to provide recognition for clubs that are committed to providing quality experiences. Its significance is expected to grow over the next few years as more and more people become aware of its importance in ensuring the safe participation of young people in our sport.

Gaining GymMark accreditation means the club is recognised by British Gymnastics, Sport England and the Home Country Sports Councils as a safe, effective and child friendly club, providing a service in the community, that children and young people, their parents/carers, and others with an interest in gymnastics, can trust.

Our local MP Mr Mike Hancock, officially opened the Portsmouth School of Gymnastics Facility, in October 1996. Mike has been a pillar of strength and inspiration to our Club for many years and we hope he will continue to associate himself with us for many more.

For many years we have served the city of Portsmouth and produced many artistic champions from schools and community centres. To finally open the doors to our own facility was a dream come true? It is not big but it is ours and we can use it whenever we please.

The gym is about 4500 square feet and we have it filled with the latest equipment for women's artistic gymnastics which includes general and team gym. PSG has around 450 youngsters from the local area.

We currently support 5 Team Gym Squads at various levels.

We also have two Artistics Squads. Our strength is Team Gym but we continue to produce County and Regional Artistic Champions.

PSG offers a well established FunGym programme to girls and boys of all ages and abilities. We also have a Trampoline Club which has a membership of around 50. The current total membership is around 400+ children which includes the squads.

Weekends are also available to the community for birthday parties which have become a huge success.

PSG owned and run by Julian and Bev Such

Where we are

Portsmouth is a famous naval and maritime city. We have a long history dating back to the days of Nelson and the battle of Trafalgar. We still have the flagship of Nelson, the Victory and we also have The Warrior and the famous Mary Rose. So any one who visits us will be able to see these historic ships. You have our e-mail, so get in touch!

Our Gym is located in Old Reservoir Road off Fitzherbert Road in Farlington. Fitzherbert Road runs next to the Sainsbury's Superstore which is off the A2030. The A2030 runs from Eastney in the south to the main Havant Road in the north of the Island. The locals call the A2030 the Eastern Road. So find Sainsburys on the Eastern Road and you are about 200 yards from us!
